Oregi Restaurant

Next stop is Oregi restaurant at (again) SS15 Subang Jaya. The place was recommended by our very own Yang Bazli. To be honest, the place was a bit secluded but it has it's own way of making the shop look attractive. Packed with colorful signboards, furnitures and a very soothing atmosphere and decor, it is a place where the local youth come to chill out with their buddies and watch football or smoke hookah while eating delightful food. It's also a Manchester United fan base.

                                                Oregi Entrance

                                                    Front Side

                                                 Back Side

This place serves a great variety of western and Arabic cuisine.

                             Beef Spaghetti Carbonara (RM 11.00)

This creamy delight consists of pasta with white cream sauce and cheese topped with beef cutlets. It literally melts in your mouth and leeks through your cheeks.

Oregi signature strawberry drink (RM 4.70)

As it says, this is the signature drink of this restaurant. The drink consists of a generous helping of strawberries coupled with mint tea leaves and is very refreshing.

Something interesting and unbelievable happened though here which left us with great memories of this place.
Someone (the marketing manager of Oregi actually) actually approached us and asked us wether we were doing a review at their place and we (after saying yes) were asked to update them on our review. Believe or not, after a couple of minutes, Vera Ng (the aforementioned manager) offered us a complementary dish.

                                                          Arees

The Arees is a charcoal toast crispy Arabic bread that's filled with minced lamb kebab meat that's served with garlic dip which gives u perfection in every bite. (it's so 'f'ing good). We had the privelege of being the first people ever to taste this dish as Vera pointed out that it hasn't been launched yet and we were truly honored.

                                              Us with Vera :)

The hospitality and service we received here was very enticing and exceeded all our expectations and we hope you guys get to experience this as well if you guys get the chance.

Uncle's Warong

Our next destination is somewhere that is very well known to a majority of KDU students which is located right in the local residence of Damansara Jaya near KDU college which is famously known as Uncle's Warong.

This place serves good Malaysian food at very reasonable prices and is the go-to place for almost every KDU student for breakfast, lunch and any time they have for food in between classes. This place is popular for it's good food and Uncle's good sense of humour.

Indo Mee with Sambal Sotong ( RM 8.00)

When regular Indo Mee just doesn't cut it.

                                      Nasi Lemak Bungkus (RM 1.50)

The sambal is the best you can find. Period. Extra spicy and sweet. The go-to food for people with low budget or prefer something less heavy to eat.
This place is a haven for KDU students where they hang out in between classes and even after. Uncle's warong provides a feel good vibe for students to dine, chill and socialize without any stress. The warong has been around for 28 years and keeping it old school yo. Nam sayin'?

Warong Lorong

Our next destination is a warong located inside a lorong somewhere around SS15. We cannot really describe the place as it does not have a real name so we decided to call it Warong Lorong. Over here, they serve specialized mamak food.

                                     Warong Lorong

This place is home to a lot of night people e.g: Cyber cafe addicts, businessmen and a few drunks hoping to get sober.
This place provides the best mamak food you can find.

Mutton Curry Indo Mee (Rm 7.00)

The mutton curry compliments the flavour of the Indo Mee surprisingly well and for a single serving fills up pretty well.

                                Kaimah (RM 5.00)

The Kaimah is a mixture of minced chicken patties, onions topped with cheese, mayonnaise and barbeque sauce all grilled together and is recommended for all first time goers.

Their crowning jewel however is the daily promotional jumbo drink.

Daily Special Fruit Juice (Rm 3.00)

The flavors of these juices changes daily and the drink is also huge enough for two to three people. Non-promoted drinks are however priced at RM 4.00. Operating hours are from 5 p.m to 5 a.m.

Gold Chilli

Our first destination is Gold Chilli located in SS15 Subang Jaya. Gold Chilli specializes in Chinese Muslim cuisine like beef fried rice, butter and lemon chicken and dim sum.

Don't be fooled by the appearance of the store as it masks the gem that is within. The store has even had visits from famous artists like Yuna and DJ Nas-T. The place tends to get a little overcrowded especially during lunch hour as INTI and Sunway college students flock over to dine there. Finding a parking spot is quite a hassle around SS15 which makes it kind of a drag as well.

                                        Beef Fried Rice (RM 4.50)

Their specialty however, the Creamy Butter Chicken set is the thing that makes the place tick.

                                          Creamy Butter Chicken

At RM10.00 it makes for a very satisfying meal. The set comes with white rice, soup and an ice cold tea coupled with the butter chicken. With rich flavours coming from the generous helping of butter and milk, the first bite will make you twitch with joy (WTF!?). The rich and subtle flavour is paired with the intense flavours of chilli and curry leaves which balance it out very well.
A worthy expenditure indeed so if any of you guys happen to pass by SS15 some day and don't know what to eat, stop by Gold Chilli for a meal worth sitting for.
Operation hours are from 12 p.m to 12 a.m.
